Early morning on the 9th of May 2015 I started my first Marathon. Its called the Mnweni Marathon with +- 170 runners competing this year. It's a 40+ km trail run with an elevation gain and loss of 2000m. It has no real rules and everything is self navigation; start here, end here and cross over the top of the Drakensberg.

This was no easy race and with a month of no training beforehand because of an injury I was not sure if I could handle the challenge.

But I ran and surprised myself in the end. I completed it in 6:32. (that's good for anyone who was wondering).

I did destroy my legs. I must admit, but I was more than happy with the results.

All I have to do now is train for next year, and beat my time... Sounds like a good idea to me!
