About
Bernie is an adventurer born in Pretoria, South Africa. He became widely known in adventure circles by being awarded the 2014 MCSA Supertramp Award for his solo and unsupported hiking trip through Iceland. For this extraordinary feat, he won the 2015 Nightjar Adventurer of the Year Award.
He has shown his skills in numerous other adventurers, including scouting a new long distance hiking trail for Rim of Africa in the Western Cape mountains, numerous trips in the Drakensberg and elsewhere around the world.
His passion for adventure and love for wild nature has given him a sense of responsibility for what he knows best. This responsibility led him to become an activist on climate issues and an avid seeker of green solutions.
